Adam Neisius
Head Coach- 2nd Season

Neisius comes to the Falcons from the University of Nebraska at Kearney where he was assistant head baseball coach for the past two years. As an assistant, Neisius was responsible for offensive and defensive aspects along with recruiting.

Prior to University of Nebraska at Kearney, Neisius spent 10 seasons from 1998 - 2008 as head baseball coach at Dakota Wesleyan University. During his 10 year stint, Neisius led his team to two regular season titles in 2002 and 2005 and two consecutive conference tournament titles in 2004 -2005 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. In 2005, he was named NAIA Region IV Coach of the Year and GPAC Coach of the Year. Neisius is currently the winningest coach at DWU compiling a record of 263-202 overall.

As a player, Neisius began his collegiate career at Mesa State College where he competed for two years before transferring to Dakota Wesleyan University where he finished his collegiate career. Neisius then spent two years in the Texas-Louisiana Professional Baseball League with the Colorado Wolverines.

Neisius holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Behavioral Sciences from Dakota Wesleyan University and a Master of Arts in Physical Education with an emphasis in coaching administration from University of Northern Colorado.

Assistant Coach- 2nd Season

Gunelson is in his first year as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator in charge of transfer students for Friends University.

Tyler is a 2010 graduate of Newman University and was among the first to be recruited at the NCAA level at Newman. Gunelson transferred to Newman from Brown Mackie College in Salina, Kansas. He was a team captain for two years at Brown Mackie.

Gunelson coached at Valley Center high School during the 2009-2010 school year and his team finished fourth in the state tournament. Gunelson then took on the position of head coach for the Valley Center summer baseball program. That summer was a success as Gunelson lead his teams to double the amount of wins from the previous summer.

Gunelson holds a bachelors degree in Marketing and currently  is pursuing his graduate degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Emporia State University
 
Nick Gauna Image

Assistant Coach- 2nd Season

Nick Gauna, a Derby, Kansas native, played three years at Friends University. He made appearances in regular season games, conference tournaments and regional games. As a sophomore he was a long relief pitcher, and during his last two seasons he was a starting pitcher.

Since finishing his career as a player, Nick has turned his focus to coaching baseball. He began his college coaching career at Brown Mackie College in Salina, Kansas as the pitching coach. He is joining the Friends University staff at the same position.

Since 2006, he has been coaching for the Butler County Cubs Baseball Club, in Augusta, Kansas. He has also been giving private and group pitching and hitting lessons for three years. In each session, Nick teaches both the mental and physical facets of baseball and is dedicated to helping kids achieve goals and move on to the next level.
